About Brad:

With a work and volunteer background spanning over twenty-years that includes law enforcement supervisor, narcotics K9 handler, narcotics investigations, DUI enforcement, emergency medical services, forensic death investigation, fire suppression, crime scene and accident investigation, Brad brings a unique perspective to the criminal cases he handles.

Brad is an advocate for the accused—having represented hundreds of individuals accused of crimes in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia—he understands the ins and outs of a criminal charge. His background as a former law enforcement sergeant and narcotics canine handler provides him with the ability to effectively represent clients accused of a wide variety of criminal offenses including misdemeanors, felonies, DUI offenses, and drug charges in Berkeley County, Jefferson County, and Morgan County.

A 2003 graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy’s 118th Basic Class, Brad was trained in the procedures used by law enforcement officers. He was also certified to conduct field sobriety tests as well as operate the preliminary breath test and secondary breath tests utilized in DUI investigations.

Brad understands each case is important to his clients, no matter how minor the charge. He believes that knowing every detail of a case is imperative. In each case, he relies on his experience as an attorney as well as over eight years in law enforcement and over 400 hours of law enforcement training to prepare a defense.

With a background and experience as both a criminal defense attorney and a former law enforcement officer, Brad spots the important issues in his clients’ cases, ensures proper procedures were followed by law enforcement, and works toward minimizing the effects an arrest can have on his clients’ lives.

As a Member of the national organization DUI Defense Lawyers Association, Brad has traveled across the country to attend DUI Defense seminars including Scottsdale AZ, Chicago IL, Philadelphia PA, and Charleston SC.

In addition to representing clients in the Eastern Panhandle, Brad formerly worked to overturn wrongful convictions as a member of the West Virginia Innocence Project at the West Virginia University College of Law in Morgantown.

Here are just a few reviews left by some Brad's former clients.
Please keep in mind that prior results are not an indication of future success. Each case is different and results vary.

Over a year ago, I suddenly found myself dealing with a legal issue that had the potential to ruin me professionally and personally. I had never dealt with the court system as a defendant and I was completely paralyzed and lost trying to navigate it. I asked around for a personal reference and Brad came highly recommended from several close friends. Brad Wright, of The Wright Law Firm was everything you need and want in an attorney when fighting for your reputation, your future, and your peace of mind. Brad is competent, compassionate, patient, and collaborative. Brad, I could not have asked for better representation or a better ending. My family and I thank you for not just being a great attorney but a genuinely great human. “A.B.”

I found Brad when a freind of mine got arrested – I interviewed alot of lawyers before landing on Brad . Not only was he able to help her , When I got charges of my own I knew exactly who to call – Brad is like an encyclopedia of case law and precedent. He helped me understand and navigate my case from start to finish . If you want a excellent lawyer Brad is the one to chose . “P.P.”

Brad came highly recommended. I was pleased with how he handled my case from beginning to end. We got the results I was looking for. I recommend giving Brad a call to see what he can do for you. “R.D.”

Mr Wright responded quickly to my request for a consultation. He demonstrated knowledge and understanding throughout the process and left me feeling certain of my options. He is professional, hard-working and personable. He listened to me and treated me with respect. I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to a friend. “R.K.”

Mr. Wright is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me with my family member’s case. I am extremely grateful for his assistance and would recommend him to anyone needing counsel in West Virginia! Hopefully, I won’t need help again but if I do, I am going to him! “Sacha”
